On the eve of their commencement, Saturday, May 13, 20 members of Assumption College's Class of 2017 were honored with the College's prestigious Crown and Shield Award. The Award recognizes students who have distinguished themselves throughout their tenure at the College in the areas of leadership and community service. Award recipients have protected (shield) and furthered (crown) the interests of the student body and Assumption as a whole.
Assumption College honored 76 students with awards for academic excellence during the 33rd Annual Honors Convocation, held on April 19 in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit. Awards ranged from departmental honors to special recognitions, to Augustine Scholarships, the College's highest academic honor.
Ninety students were selected to present an original academic research project at Assumption College's 23rd Annual Undergraduate Symposium, held April 24-25 on the College's Worcester Campus.

The Assumption College Office of Campus Ministry has announced that 63 students spent spring break volunteering on one of the College's SEND Service Immersion Trips.
Students who participate in the H.O.P.E. Service Immersion Program form community with one another during the five months leading up to their trip. They learn about the culture, history and issues of social injustice in the communities they are destined to visit and serve.
17 students are spending the fall semester abroad at Assumption College's Rome Campus where the city and country of Italy become a living classroom. Established in 2013, Assumption's Rome Campus offers students the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the culture and history of the region. The unique courses, taught by Assumption faculty, take full advantage of all that the city - and country - has to offer.
This semester, a total of 144 Stonehill students are studying abroad during the Spring 2015 semester in locations throughout the world. Recently named one of the top study abroad institutions in the nation by the Institute of International Education, Stonehill has more than 200 study abroad programs in 35 countries which students can choose from.
Students have been named Presidential Scholars for the spring 2015 semester at Clarkson University.
